Leadership and Management Development

HWS recognizes the importance of the ongoing development of management and leadership skills in workers throughout the health care industry. HWS' leadership and management training programs are distinguished by their customization to the institution and the role, with significant use of experiential training including interactive scenarios, cases, and problem simulations.

HWS' Leadership and Management Development services are delivered by a talented set of faculty from leading universities, clinical organizations and health policy organizations, and offered onsite, via video-conference, and via web-enabled teleconferences that don't necessitate travel. Programs can also be repackaged and customized for specific content and event needs such as Nurse Week.

  • Leadership Skills Assessments
    Any organization is only as good as its management and leadership, yet few organizations devote sufficient resources to developing and retaining leaders. An important first step in that effort is helping individual managers learn their strengths and weaknesses.   HWS offers Leadership Skill Assessment engagements to help organizations enable their managers to become more effective leaders. The assessment is designed to help individual managers identify key areas for improvement and is appropriate for new managers as well as experienced leaders.

  • New Manager Fast-Track Training
    Many health care organizations, from providers to insurers to biomedical companies, face the challenge of teaching management skills to talented practitioners and scientists who have been promoted into the leadership ranks of an organization. HWS works with large care delivery systems, public agencies and professional groups to design and improve organizational and professional performance through the development and use of new leadership and management skills.

  • Customized Management Coaching
    HWS' coaching service is entirely customized to each individual's specific needs for skill development. Individual coaching involves one-on-one sessions with an HWS leadership expert, who will work with an individual to development specific leadership competencies and skills.
