David Cherner, MBA, MPH
Managing Partner
David Cherner is a founder and managing partner of Health Workforce Solutions LLC, a leading national research and advisory firm focused on developing innovative solutions to health workforce problems. He has published a number of articles on health workforce issues and has led client engagements with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, Partners HealthCare, Ascension Health, and the Advisory Board Company, among others.
Prior to co-founding HWS, David spent the bulk of his career in operating roles with health services and technology companies. Most recently, David was founder and CEO of Alpine HealthCorps, Inc., a pioneering allied health workforce development company. Prior to that, he led the global syndication business unit for Vicinity Corporation (now Microsoft), where he was a member of the executive team that completed a successful initial public offering. David was also founding CEO of i-Health, Inc., a consumer health information company, and a program manager at Access Health (now McKesson), an early leader in demand management.
David holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley, an MPH from the School of Public Health at U.C. Berkeley, and a BA in Economics from Emory University. David has also served as a faculty member in the Johnson & Johnson/UCLA Health Care Executive Program, and a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Health Professions at the University of California, San Francisco.
